Korean Irregulars and Tenses

An Anki learning set that helps Korean learners practise ㄷ, ㅂ and ㄹ irregular forms across present, past and future tense through illustrated cards and sentence-based review.

Korean irregulars quiz screen in a flashcard app

This Anki-based learning resource focuses on a part of Korean grammar that often causes confusion for new learners: irregular verb and adjective changes across tenses. It concentrates on ㄷ, ㅂ and ㄹ irregular forms, showing how a base word changes in the present, past and future and drawing attention to the exceptions learners need to notice.

The resource is split between learning and testing. The Korean Irregular Word deck introduces a word with its English meaning, word class and picture, then reveals its tense forms. The Korean Irregular Test deck places those forms in sentences, asking learners to enter or select the appropriate answer. Immediate colour feedback makes the result visible before the learner continues to the next item. Tags group the cards by irregular type, helping learners concentrate on a particular pattern when they return.

Two decks, one learning loop

  • Separate learning and test decks in Anki
  • Coverage of ㄷ, ㅂ and ㄹ irregular forms
  • Present, past and future tense examples
  • 50 illustrated word flashcards with tags by irregular type
  • Around 300 sentence-based test cards with corrective feedback

What was delivered

The report documents two completed decks: 50 word cards and roughly 300 test sentences. Further irregular patterns, explanations for incorrect answers and additional tense topics are identified for future development.
