Movie-Based English Speaking Practice is a mobile-assisted speaking prototype that turns selected film scenes into repeated, guided English practice. Learners begin by choosing a difficulty level, film and scene, then work through individual lines with the support of an embedded video player. The selected clips span several genres and are organised by speech speed and syllable density.
The practice screen combines listening, speaking and immediate comparison: learners can hear a line, speak through the microphone and see speech-to-text feedback that highlights matched and unmatched words. A separate recording screen supports scene voice-over and playback, while an intonation section connects speech acts with emotions such as excitement, anger and sadness.
