This project examines the potential of an AI chatbot to support people buying, renting or selling property on Lamma Island. The report frames the chatbot as an always-available first point of contact: users could ask about listings, local amenities, transport and neighbourhood life, then be connected with a human agent when the conversation reaches a more complex decision.
The report considers simple, practical requests such as filtering listings by price, location or bedrooms, clarifying property details and arranging a viewing. It also keeps the limits of automation in view: participants valued quick answers and appointment support, but raised questions about usability, privacy, accuracy and the need for human agents in negotiations and complex transactions. Human judgement remains central when a property decision becomes sensitive or complex.
Reported conversational functions
- Conversational property search by price, location and bedroom count
- Listing details, local-area information and viewing support
- Routing from simple questions to human real-estate agents
- Support ideas for tenant communication and maintenance requests
- Consideration of privacy, security and accuracy in chatbot use
Evidence and limits
The report is primarily an evaluation of the chatbot concept, using surveys and interviews. The page does not claim that a public production service or all property-management functions discussed in the report are available.
