This web app supports intermediate Japanese learners preparing for JLPT N3 and N4 vocabulary. Learners choose a level, browse a word list and open individual flashcards that bring together kanji, romaji, meaning, word class, an emoji cue and Japanese audio. The app is designed as a lightweight, browser-based alternative for independent review.
Navigation supports both planned and spontaneous practice. The word list shows 20 items at a time, while Previous, Next and Random Word controls let learners keep moving through the material. A browse-history feature remembers up to ten recently viewed words, so a learner can quickly return to vocabulary that needs another look or listen. The responsive layout works on desktop and mobile browsers, keeping the vocabulary library easy to access.

Usability findings
The completed web app was evaluated by ten classmates on Chrome and Safari. The report records an average usability score of 8.5/10 and notes minor mobile-Safari audio delays as a future optimisation area.
