Cultural Quest turns everyday Hong Kong language and cultural references into a role-playing journey. Players explore locations such as markets, malls and Tsim Sha Tsui, meeting NPCs who pose questions about local English expressions, Cantonese loanwords and cultural cues. The project is aimed at expatriates, international students, visitors and others who want to understand language as it is used in local life.
Each quiz battle makes a correct answer part of the game: it reduces an opponent’s health, while an incorrect answer prompts feedback and another chance to learn. Players collect culturally meaningful items, use hints and add correctly answered expressions to a growing glossary. The game can be saved and resumed, allowing the learner to keep exploring the same cultural world over time.
