Gamified Educational Platform for Mastering Chinese Multi-Syllable Characters

A Bubble Shooter-style game turns each polyphonic Chinese character into a Pinyin choice, with levels that become more demanding as the board fills.

Final project demonstration

In the reported game, a character arrives in the launcher and the learner sends its Pinyin towards the matching bubble; a correct hit clears space, while a wrong one makes the next decision feel more urgent.

The final build scales that loop across five stages and 100 levels. Familiar readings appear first; later levels add less familiar characters and more possible pronunciations. When the right bubble is blocked, the completed Change Words control keeps the board from becoming a dead end — a small design repair that the report explicitly records.

A pronunciation choice becomes play

  • Bubble-launcher matching between multi-syllable Chinese characters and Pinyin
  • Five stages with 100 levels and increasing complexity
  • Six characters introduced in each level
  • Points and level progression
  • Change Words control to avoid blocked matches

Solving a gameplay deadlock

The report describes a fully playable game: users can select levels, complete stages and accumulate points. It also records the Change Words control as a completed fix for a gameplay deadlock discovered during testing.
